Sankyo-soko Rice Storehouses (Sakata Yume-no-Kura Souvenir Shop)
An impressive row of 150-year-old zelkova trees lines the path around these rice storehouses, active for over 120 years. Inside the Yume-no-Kura building, one will find a full array of local Sakata goods, a café and restaurant, and exhibits about Sakata's history. The Sankyo-soko Rice Storehouses are also a great one-stop-shop for visitors to enjoy Japanese saké; it's no surprise that this destination appears in the Michelin Green Guide: Japan! (※1)

Sakata Fish Market
Located right next to Sakata's harbor, this market is full of delicious fish freshly caught in the Sea of Japan. The wooden decks and observation terraces that offer views of the port, where people can often be seen waving off the ocean liner Tobishima as it sets sail, are also a part of its appeal. On the second level are Tobishima café and seafood dining: enjoy a seafood boat or rice bowl while gazing out over the harbor. In the summer, one can even eat iwagaki, Japanese rock oyster! The Sakata Fish Market is recommended as “Where to Eat” in Sakata, in the Michelin Green Guide: Japan.
